Charity Auction for Pakistan has ended! We have Winners! Life is great!
To say that I’m floored by the outcome of this auction would be the understatement of the year…
Here’s a giant “thank you” from me to the winners
NODBEAR and ANTEROS LMC
(and Admiral Lord Exmouth, of course. My greetings, good Sir!)
They’ve pooled their bids and will donate the astonishing sum of
to Doctors without Borders, who will use the money to help the victims of the floods in Pakistan.
It goes without saying that both nodbear and
anteros_lmc will get a CD with Emma Collingwood‘s story (read by myself) and twice the choccies. I will contact both tonight to exchange addresses etc.
Thanks so much to the winners, all bidders and everybody else who helped spreading the word about this auction. Double rum rations for this ship’s company today!
Garrow’s Law news which will delight the Hornblower community…
… if it’s true, that is. The source is very reliable, but so far, I haven’t found an official confirmation anywhere. So – until we know for sure, it’s a rumour.
Edited to add: it’s true, he’s confirmed it on his twitter. Thanks for the tip, Mary! 🙂
Hear, hear, hear!
The grapevine whispers that
will feature in an episode of “Garrow’s Law”.
Hint: people tend to see red in his presence…
Huzzah!
PS: for those who have seen neither Hornblower nor Longitude or anything else he’s been in: this way, please.
Possible biopic about Nelson – writers/historians wanted
The following request was posted to my LJ, but I’m afraid I can’t help this gentleman – I’m a Collingwoody, not a Nelsonian. 😉
But maybe you can?
My name is Simon J Miller, and I am a feature film producer currently researching the possibilities of producing a feature length biopic of Nelson for Lazarus International Pictures.
Our research team would like to hear from any writers/historians who would be interested in becoming involved in the early stages of this project – we have a draft 25 page treatment available.
Thank you for your time
